In December 1996, I was diagnosed
with breast cancer. Luckily I was operated on during Dec/24/96.
On Jan/6/97 I was given the pathologists report & from there I was
told I would need to do chemotherapy & radiotherapy.
My first chemo was
Jan/24th & I was to do twelve sessions. The doctor told me I could
have different reaction to chemo: nausea, vomiting, hair loss, sores
in my mouth, etc. But for every reaction, there was always something
to counteract it. Mar/11th I started my radiotherapy sessions, I
was to do 25 consecutively, & the chemo goes on in the meantime.
I went through all this & if complications arose I was told to get
to my doctor a.s.a.p. to have antibiotics prescribed. Of course
I had complications & went to see my doctor, but as luck would have
she wasn’t in her office that day, but I did see another doctor,
Dr. Dowell. After checking me out & prescribing the needed antibiotic,
we discusses my cancer.
He talked with me briefly

Later that day I received

In 1993 I was diagnosed
with having Fibromyalgia. My whole life had become a nightmare of
pain, doctors, prescriptions, numerous painful tests, alternative
treatment, prayer & despair.
I tried every known
pain killer, medical prescriptions, herbal remedies including, evening
primrose oil, gelatinin, melantonin, vitamins of every kind, devils
claw, ginseng, glucosamine, glucosamine with chondritin, even such
bazaar things such as soaking flannel in hot castor oil [as described

was no longer important.
I am normally a happy
extrovert having been a professional concert singer & then a legal
secretary. I had a busy fulfilling life with a full time job, a
hobby of singing/performing & teaching voice. When this happened
my life disintegrated.
Chronic fatigue I found
hard to describe, like the muscles were being twisted & burned at
the same time. Simple, taken for granted activities became a nightmare,
heavy doors were a battle.
My son-in-law bought

improvements each day. My digestive system ruined over medications
[sometimes as many as 20 Tyelenol a day] was improving. I have been
on Naprosyn, Voltaren, Novasen, Amytriptillin, Norgesic, & when
the shingles hit me Oxycet, a derivative of Percoden. Now I take
my high blood pressure pills [I don’t think I need them, but continue
to be cautious], my multivitamins & calcium A, D, C. I only take
Tylenol for occasional headaches, the overwhelming pain is under
control mostly gone hopefully all of it forever. My life is mine
to enjoy again, thanks to HMS 90 & I thank God for Dr. Bounous &
his research team.
